MD during the 1970s was Guy Robinson. Tony Hanna A&R. Producer John Drummond. EMI's offices in Dublin were at 23 Lower Dominick Street.

EMI (The Gramophone Record Company) opened the first pressing plant in Ireland at Ferrybank in Waterford. This later moved to an Dublin Industrial Estate during the 1970s. The second Irish record plant was Carlton Productions, opened in the John F. Kennedy estate off the Naas in Dublin circa 1966. Carlton was the first plant in Ireland able to press stereo LPs.

EMI's Dublin plant opened in 1976. It accepted orders for very low runs, as low as 250. Most UK indie label releases from this period with "manufactured in Ireland" on the label were pressed at this plant. The Dublin plant was closed in 1979-1980 as it was not a commerical success. This left Carlton with a monopoly until it's closure ca 1990. Carlton's minimum order size was 1000.

When EMI moved form the Dublin Industrial Estate to an address in Ballsbridge in the early 90s, all Irish master tapes were sent to Abbey Road for storage. Alas, all paper archives were dumped.

There are Irish EMI pressings of many international releases (including the much sought after green label pressings from 1980). There are also Irish only releases. The EMD 4000, IEMI 5000 and IEM 000 singles series are of most interest in this regard.

Initial pressings of EMI Ireland singles were in quantities as small as 250 (the minimum), 500 or 1000, depending on popularity, but it was not unusual for popular titles to sell 20 thousand or more.

There are also many LP releases, mostly folk and trad, in the Aran, Green, Talisman and Shamrock series, but most collectable is the Leaf series from the mid-70s.
