The liner notes are by DJ Dave Fanning: "Now that Dublin has proved to be as
important a city on the international rock map as almost any other in Europe,
the local scene has clearly benefitted in every way. The success of Thin
Lizzy and the Boomtown Rats, the availability of pirate radio, the consolidation
of Hot Press as the authorative rock journal, and this year's huge success
of RTE Radio 2, have all combined to create a firm base to take us through the
Eighties. From the Baggot to the Crofton, and McGonagles, to the Dandelion,
all of these bands have helped to keep the music (a)live."
