Bio:
The Xn-trix formed in 1981 with Paul Duffy (ex DC Nien) and
Brian Brady (ex Tony Koklin Band).
They lived and rehearsed together in a house in Balgriffen.
They gigged extensively around
Ireland and were a constant on the college circuit.
The band made numerous demos. A five track demo recorded at Setanta Studios in 1981
was carefully reviewed in Hot Press. The music was described as melodic,
semi-psychedelic "new pop", well executed but let down by some lack lustre
melodies and a poor vocalist.
Dave Fanning had the band in for a session on two occasions.
They also recorded an expensive demo at Windmill Lane.
The end came when they signed to management who then all of a sudden saw
them as the Irish version of Dexy's Midnight Runners -- the band split in 1983.
Martin Dunne is now a successful screen and stage actor.
Brian Brady went on to The Candy Zoomz (1983-86).
