Bio:
The Soulmates were an early 80s band consisting of
moonlighting Some Kind of Wonderful and
Tokyo Olympics members doing 70s soul covers
with two female singers. I remember Tokyo Olympics opening and closing their
live set at Lisdoonvarna in 1981 or '82 with a cover of Donna Summer's
"Hot Stuff", so the soul influence rubbed off.
This was principally a live/club band and there are no recordings.
Venue unknown.
Venue unknown, possibly The Ivy Rooms, where the band had a residency with
Some Kind Of Winderful.
On March 14 - 1981 the band played The Magnet Bar with Broken Doll
and the original Micro-Disney.
Boddis gig, April 1981
Marian Woods was later in Max.
My thanks to Bill Alford for providing the above information and photos.
