Bio:
Cork indie band, active for 2-3 years in the mid-80s (gig listings begin in 1984).
Paul O'Brien and Johnny Flynn had previously been in punk
band Unknown Wrecks.
Kryteria played a lot of gigs around Cork. They were one of
the first bands to play the Underground Venue and also played Sir Henrys and
Connolly Hall, sometimes along side Porcelyn Tears.
Paul Moriarty married Grace O'Sullivan of Porcelyn Tears.
They incorporated Bauhaus and Joy Division influences in their sound (they did a
Joy Division tribute gig one night in the Underground in Cork).
Dave Fanning played their demo "Arabian Nights", recorded
at Elm Tree Studios.
They are generally considered not to have realised their potential.
