Dublin rock band formed in 1985. Conor Goff had previously been in PP Layouts (ca 1982) and Pulling Faces 1982-85. Neville 17, from London, had come to Ireland with Nine Out Of Ten Cats. Derek Kennedy also came from Nine Out Of Ten Cats and replaced original drummer Mark Megaray (Radiators from Space (1976-79), Auto Da Fe (1979-83). Dave Moloney was ex Boomtown Rats, The Vipers, The Reasons, The Rhythm Kings, Flash Harrys and Wilf Brothers.

G Squad supported the Ramones and Thompson Twins on their Irish tours. TV Appearances included TV GaGa and Anything Goes on RTE and they were invited to record a Fanning Session. In 1986 they changed their name to the The Fast Boys by which time Neville 17 (who also played with Nine Out Of Ten Cats) had joined Light A Big Fire

Not to be confused with the UK band who released a single ("In My Mind") on Squid Market Times in 1981.
