Bio:
Formed by Jil Turner & Dave McGinley when Eugene
split after their return from London in 1987. Original Eugene
bassist Derek Ennis joined them for studio recordings. Ex Eugene drummer Martin Murphy
may also have been involved...
East of Eden recorded a demo circa 1987 which included the track "Something".
Shortened their name to Eden in 1988 and recorded a 4-song
demo; other song titles include "She's Back In Town", "Sign of Love", "Hush", "Raintown",
and a cover of the Pretenders "Kid".
Some of these demos include Phelim Gormley, who later played the character Dean
in The Committments.
Following some TV appearances and a few live gigs the band came to a halt.
Jil joined Celine Carroll (ex-Circus Train) to form the short-lived The Mississippi Mermaids.
She now works in the film industry.
Dave McGinley joined Act of Love and later the Precious Stones.
