Bio:
Formed by various ex Fallen Angels,
Those Handsome Devils, Hank Halfhead & The Rambling Turkeys
(country rock) and Fevertrain (soul) personnel, The Dixons were
one of the innovators in the move towards country rock, folk and acoustic
rock sounds in the late 1980s.
Their debut single
is another one of those records that appears to have disappeared
into the Mother Records Swirling Vortex of Death.
The bands management
failed to come to an agreement with Mother which is why the second single
was on the bands own label.
They split while recording their third album,
the fabulously titled "Exile On Dame Street".
Alan Montgomery was later in Revelino.
Naill Toner Jr also played with Hank Halfhead & The Rambling Turkeys during 1985-89 approx.
Joey Pleass also drummed with Hank Halfhead.
Reformed in 2002 for a one-off gig. Nowadays Niall Toner fronts the The Niall Toner Band.
Notes:
All songs are (c) 1989 Dixongs but these recordings were made at The Recording Company in January 1990 and
released in May.
