Ceathrar

From: IRL

Active: 1975

Style: Progressive Folk

Lineup:

Bio:

"Faoilean" was recorded by Triona (ex Skara Brae, 1691), Mairead (ex Skara Brae) & Micheal (ex Skara Brae, Monroe/Celtic Folkweave) O'Domhnaill and Donal Lunny (ex Planxty, Emmet Spiceland) in 1975 for the Pan Celtic Song Contest in Killarney. It was released as a split single with Clannad by Gael Linn the same year, and also surfaced on the From Lagan To Lee compilation LP. It is the only known recording by this quartet [the literal translation of Ceathrar is Quartet], though Lunny and the O'Domhnaill's went on to form The Bothy Band the same year. Highly recommended.
