Bio:

Paul Ashford's career stretches back the 1960s. When the Miami split from Dickie Rock in 1967 because he was getting more money than the band and they formed The Sands, manager Tom Doherty assembled a new Miami to back Rock and this new backing band included Paul Ashford (bass) and Fran O'Toole (vocals/keyboards), both of the Chosen Few.

An accomplished bass player, he was involved in various bands including the reformed Emmet Spiceland (1973), Stepaside (1976-), Tony Koklin's original Casanova OK (1979) and fronted The Sharks (1981-).

He released some solo pop singles in the mid-80s and later fronted a cabaret band. He died in January 2011.
