From: Derry
Active: 1984-93
Style:
Lineup:
- Steve Mack - vocals
- Sean O'Neill - guitar
- Reamann O'Gormain - guitar
- Damian O'Neill - bass
- Ciaran McLaughlin - drums
Bio:
The O'Neill brothers post Undertones project,
a sometimes great band who lost direction circa 1988. They released some
great singles for various indie labels, most notably Demon, and then signed
to Polydor Records (and later Virgin) but they failed to deliver on their initial
promise.
Sean O'Neill left during the recording of the third album in 1988. He next
recorded as rock-dance crossover act Rare (the "Set Me On Fire" single
on Setanta in 1990, a number of singles several years later in 1996,
and the Peoplefreak album in 1998). Some
heralded TPE's fourth LP Chemicrazy (1990) as a return to form but frankly I don't hear it.
Brendan Kelly (ex Cut The Bag
joined on bass in 1991.
They finally
split in 1993.
