Bio:
Between 1970 and 1985 Larry Kirwan worked with Pierce Turner in Aftermath,
Turner & Kirwan of Wexford and the Major Thinkers,
as well as Copernicus's backing band. See the corresponding entries for more
details.
After the Major Thinkers split in 1985, Kirwan worked with various ex Copernicus
musicians in Chill Faction who released "Eggman on the
Deuce" in 1987, and since 1989 in another NYC-based band called Black 47 with
Chris Byrne. As the latter choice of band name suggests, they pander to Irish-American sentimentality.
They are a glorified bar band of little appeal IMO, a cartoon version of The Pogues.
All of their
releases have been CDs with the exception of one single which is listed below.
Kirwan has written several plays as well as a memoire called "Green Suede Shoes"
which did little to improve my opinon of his work.
