Bio:

Cork rock band who played a mixture of originals -- mostly by Paddy Madden -- and covers of The Incredible String Band, Grateful Dead, Buffalo Springfield and Tyrannosaurus Rex. Lead electric guitarist Tony Troy & drummer Len del la Cour were from Youghal, Co.Cork. They auditioned for Decca Records, which may have been recorded, but otherwise there are no known recordings. The bands biggest achievement was probably touring with Dr.Strangely Strange and opening for Rory Gallagher. Bill O'Brien had previously been with Cork bands Wild Oaths and Essence. He left to switch to lead guitar. His place was taken by Eric Kitteringham, fresh from the recently dissolved first lineup of Taste. O'Brien, Madden and Len de la Cour all featured in the first lineup of Sleepy Hollow, formed in 1971.

Paddy Madden revived Gaslight in late 1973. The lineup included Bill O’Brien (lead guitar), Pete Brennan (bass) and Kieran Jolly (drums). The lineup records approx 6-7 of Paddy Madden's songs at a recording studio in Cork (on South Terrace?) but a problem with the recording speed prevented anything ever being done with them.

Paul Coughlan (bass) and Billy Williams (bass) were reportedly members of the band at some point.
