Celtic Fusion

From: Limerick

Active: 1985-

Style: Folk/rock fusion

Lineup:

Bio:

Celtic Fusion were formed by Don O'Connor after Reform split up in 1985. Unlike the earlier power trio format, Celtic Fusion followed in the wake of Moving Hearts and The Pogues, mixing rock with folk, using guitar, keyboards, accordion, harmonica and various percussion including marching drum, washboard and spoons.

A gig at Slatterys on 8 June 1988 was filmed by German TV for a documentary about Irish rock. Anyone out there in German TV Land care to dig up a copy? The band also visited Boston and New York the same year.

Celtic Fusion contined into the 90s and beyond, latterly concentrating on the european festival circuit. Most recently the band has focussed on the German market. There have been a number of CD releases.
