Geraldine Branagan AKA Geraldine

From: IRL

Active: 70s/80s

Style: Pop

Bio:

Not to be confused with Geraldine McKeever.

Geraldine Branagan was a member of The Branagans. In 1975 she recorded Luxembourg's entry for Eurovision "Toi", which launched her solo career. She dropped her surname for the performance, appearing as just Geraldine. The song was written by Phil Coulter. Branagan and Coulter became partners and eventually married.

Geraldine's recording career is heavily peppered with Martin/Coulter originals but their reputation as hit-makers seems to have eluded them in her case. Even so she sustained a recording career for ten years approx, from 1975-1985, recording for EMI, CBS Ireland and Magnet.
