Recordings by Fr. Stephen Redmond SJ (1890-2017), available from his address in Dublin at the time.
Redmond was a Jesuit and English teacher who worked in Ireland and Africa (Zambia). He wrote many pieces of music,
including at least one musical about the Spiritual Exercises (wonder if he knew the Cave of Living Streams lot?)
which was broadcast on national radio (in Zambia!). Famously, one of his songs 'Gleann na Smól' made the last
stages of the selection process for Ireland's 1968 Eurovision by mistake due to one of the RTE minions mishearing;
the song didn't win.
Redmond released at least three EPs of his music: Oh, Brother! (5 song), Abba (4 song) and The Spirit Is Free (5 song).
Some of these recordings were made in Zambia. Redmond plays piano and sings. Other Jesuits
accompany him on guitar and percussion.

Stephen Redmond - Abba EP 7" [19??] (PS) Undated. Abba as in 'father', i.e. nothing to do with the vile Swedes. |
