Charleville born tenor Kevin Owens is a very well known radio performer having appeared on such well known programmes as 'Melody from Munster', 'Songs in the Night', Music of the Nation' and others. His solo performance in Bernard Geary's 'Mass of Saint Finbarr' on the Aisling label was most successful. His Dublin Feis Ceol successes in 1974 and 1975 include The Denis O'Sullivan medal, The Tenor Gold Medal, The Thomas Moore Cup, The Mac Call Cup, The McAuliffe Cup, and the John McCormack Cup.
