Bio:
Formed by John Prendergast & Mark Willis, both ex Cliff Edge Panic.
Original vocalist Paul Bolger (from Waterford) left in 1989. Mark Willis took over the vocal
duties and Fintan Doyle joined as second guitarist, keeping the quartet format.
The band made some memorable compilation appearances, recorded an excellent Dave
Fanning session and were runners-up in the Carling/Hot Press finals in 1989. A
single was planned for that same year but the recordings were judged
unsatisfactory. Despite interest from Setanta Records, the band seemed to come
to a halt.
In 2001 John Prendergast issued a prize-winning compilation CD of Train Walkers
recordings as part of a degree course in media production. This CD (and a
companion Cliff Edge Panic CD) was sold through a website which now appears to
be defunct. Can John Prendergast or anyone else associated with these sites
please
get in touch.
The Train Walkers now have a myspace page with several videos showing just
how good a band they were. See external links below.
Notes:
When reviewed in Hot Press, the track "I Want You" was singled out
as a particular highlight. Anyone subsequently buying the tape would have
been disappointed to find the track omitted from the running order by
accident [the review copy sent to HP was complete].
Notes:
