From: Cork
Active: 1988-1997
Style: Punk
Lineup:
- Niall O'Flaherty - vocals
- Pat O'Connell - guitar
- Sammy Steiger - guitar (1992-)
- Alan MacFeely - bass
- Morty McCarthy - drums.
Bio:
Outstanding punk rock band, dismissed as a joke band by those who can't
see past humourous lyrics. How anyone could miss the Sultans ability to
rock is beyond me. Mistakenly compared to The Fall because of
'Where's Me Jumper', the Sultans made three outstanding albums, becoming
a sort of Dwarves-meets-Ramones hybrid in the process. Thee Irish rock
band of the 1990s.
Sammy Steiger (ex Golden Horde) joined as second
guitarist in 1992.
