Bio:
Experimental musician with self-designed instrument; appears on Stano's first LP.
Reviewed in The Wire in July 2001.
Michael O'Shea has a more interesting bio and a far deeper and varied recording career than
this meagre entry suggests. He ran the gigs at Eel Pie Island in London for a period in the
late 1960s; toured with Don Cherry in the early 1970s; recorded with Rick Wakemen (recordings
wiped by Wakeman); reputedly collaborated with Shriekback and with Matt Johnson; and was involved
in the early career of Depeche Mode. It's unclear
how much of any of this history survives on tape. A very interesting character.
