N.R.G. / The Scheme

From: Dundalk

Active: 1978-80

Style: Punk / New Wave

Lineup:

Bio:

N.R.G. formed early in 1978 and played their first gig in April the same year, supporting The Vipers at Dundalk RTC. The Vipers then invited them to play a support slot at The Magnet in Dublin, their first Dublin gig. They also supported the Addix in Dundalk in 1978. Their live set consisted almost entirely of punk rock covers (Pistols, Clash, Damned), played fast, Ramones style, plus a handful of originals. In September 1979, they changed their name to The Scheme.

The Scheme presumably played more original material. They played the Dandelion on three occasions in 1979: Sunday 30 September with Static Routines, also from Dundalk; Sunday 4 November with Neu Belsen; and Sunday 30 December. The band probably made some demos. One track recalled is "Disconnected".

The split ca 1980.
