Bio:
Formed 1978 by Steve Rapid (ex Radiators) and Pete Hamilton,
with a fluid lineup based around this core duo. An 18 year old Stan Erraught witnessed
their first show in March(?) 1978 at McGonagles, where they were supposed to appear between support
act U2 and headliner Revolver, but U2 manager Paul McGuinness objected, forcing
them to appear last. Erraught joined the band sometime after, followed by Ed Jettison
AKA Adrian Darragh of the Boy Scouts,
while Steve Rapid departed.
By 1980 the band's contact address was c/o Trinity Anarchists Society. By 1981 the band
had evolved into the peridots, with Stan
Erraught and Pete Hamilton.
Stan Erraught is nowadays best known for his time with the Stars of Heaven.
Note this Modernaires has no connection to the UK band who recorded the "Way of Living" LP for Illuminated
Records in 1980.
