Bio:
Dublin based folk duo who wrote the theme music for the RTE TV series "Like Now"
which Pye released as a single in 1969 though it was recorded sometime earlier
(1968?). It's appeal however lies in the B-side,
"Choo Choo Charlie", written by P.J.Crowe, on which the backing band was none
other than the original Skid Row trio of Gary Moore, Brush Shiels and Noel
Bridgeman.
Crowe and/or Mooney were later involved in another RTE series Imeall,
an Irish language music show for which he/they also wrote the theme tune.
No Skid Row involvement alas.
Tony Mooney joined the Sun Valley Boys circa March 1970.
Barry Desmond (guitar) also played with The Jacobites. He was later a
member of the embryonic Horslips.
The Jacobites played the Foxrock Folk Club, where gigs were regularly
recorded on reel-to-reel,
on two occasions: 13 December 1970 and 17 January 1971.
It is not known yet if either of these gigs were recorded.
