Bio:
A self-released collection of all original, religiously themed songs written by
Joe Kennedy, Seamus Fitzgerald and Hugh Brennan who presumably are original
Glasthule Folk Group members. Brennan is only listed among the other/backing
vocalists on the insert, but is one of the three songwriters.
The 'And Friends' part of the credits covers a number of prominent
musicians.
Love Lives is one
of the best recorded and best produced records of it's type, undoubtedly
thanks to the presence of Jolyon Jackson, credited as co-producer along with
Joe Kennedy. There is no information about where it was recorded but it's
certainly a studio recording. Larry Hogan is thanked for his help with
pre production, as is Brian Masterson. Larry Hogan is also partly responsible for the
striking cover design.
The album features a number of lead vocalists including
Dominic Mulvany, Mark Healy, Rosaleen Cunningham, Moira Ferguson, Paul Healy and
Joe Kennedy. There is also a long list of backing vocalists.
The standout track is 'Someday', sung I believe by Rosaleen Cunningham.
There are a couple of other good tracks while the rest for the most part is
polite acoustic folk of no great distinction.
Notes: Produced by Jolyon Jackson and Joe Kennedy. "Thanks to Larry (Hogan) for help with early production and also to Sally and to Brian Masterson." Cover design by Jolyon Jackson and Joe Kennedy.
