singer Della Reese, comedian Jerry Shane, Sean Fleming and comedienne Betty Walker
with regular Arthur Treacher; April 11, 1967:
Merv's guests are bandleader Bob Crosby and Chris Crosby,
Sean Fleming, actress Joanna Barnes, comedienne Moms Mabley, comedian Bobby Ramsen and
Science fiction writer Walter Sullivan with regular Arthur Treacher.].
Signed to MGM Records, began recording in 1968.

Drafted in 1969 (applied to green card carriers, back then), spent 2 years in the army, including a tour of Vietnam.
Taught himself guitar and spent last 5 months as army entertainer rather than soldier.
Returned to civilian life in 1971, starting from scratch again.
Began playing Irish pubs and clubs and carved a career, self-releasing several records.
